Davis Hall
Dr. Davis Hall is the founder and patriarch of Columbia Pike Animal Hospital and Emergency Center, founded in 1974. Our actual roots were planted in 1974 when, after serving in the military, Dr. Hall acquired Town & Country Animal Hospital in Fairfax. The practice treated both large and small animals, as Northern Virginia was still richly rural.
Through the years, Dr. Hall organized and nurtured a growing staff of veterinary professionals, all embracing his philosophy of expert treatment delivered with compassion. He also serves as a touchstone for our team, as his wealth of knowledge and experience will always help to ensure the best outcomes.
Most of his clients consider him part of the family, having cared for generations of pets, some traveling many miles for wellness exams and treatment. Both hospitals have grown to include full-service kennels and grooming facilities with more than 150 staff members. Dr. Hall graduated from Texas A&M University in 1969.

Reed Hall
Dr. Reed Hall, son of Dr. Davis Hall, extends the family’s veterinary legacy. Dr. Hall displays enormous compassion for his patients and clients alike. His clients never leave their appointments without having been educated on topics related to either their pet’s health, treatment, or nutrition. He also has an affinity for surgery and animal teeth cleaning. This is among many reasons he has been named one of NOVA Magazine’s “Top Vets.”
Dr. Hall and his family, including son Davis Hall V and daughter Hope, live in Clifton and are a part of the fellowship at Expectation Church. He supports and shares a Christian veterinarian philosophy with other veterinarians and veterinary students. He is a member of the C12 Group, a national Christian peer advisory organization and he is also active in the Christian Veterinary Mission.
He practices at both Town & Country Animal Hospital and Columbia Pike Animal Hospital and Emergency Center. Dr. Hall completed his undergraduate degree at West Virginia University and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at Virginia Tech.

Courtney Katsur
Black and yellow proud, Dr. Katsur hails from Pittsburgh, PA. Before becoming a veterinarian, she had a career in private banking. The demands of Wall Street allowed very little time for one of her true loves, animals. Time spent volunteering for Puppies Behind Bars helped set the stage for a major career change. She attained certification in pet grooming, became a Caninology Canine Body Worker and planned for opening a homeopathic spa and rehabilitation center for pets. Later, she realized that becoming a veterinarian was her true calling.
Dr. Katsur attended Boston College for undergraduate studies and the University of Pennsylvania where she earned her Veterinary degree. She has particular expertise in dermatology, chronic allergies, and auto-immune diseases. She also possesses talents in soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and preventative care. She has worked as a volunteer for the Humane Rescue Alliance of Washington D.C., and for the Pennsylvania Wildlife Rescue League. She is a member of the The American Veterinary Medical Association, (AVMA), and is Six Sigma certified for project and change management.
Dr. Katsur is an avid skier that equally enjoys the beach. She also enjoys international travel, and affectionately recalls time spent in Africa observing animals in their natural habitat.

Jacque Stahl
Becoming a veterinarian was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for Dr. Stahl. She even left paradise to do it. Before earning her Veterinary Degree, she owned, operated and chartered a sailing catamaran that voyaged the British Virgin Islands. As she and her guests sailed, she even served as Chef and Divemaster.
As a practitioner, she is a proponent of good nutrition. Her clients are educated on the link between food and health. She is also working to develop a pet food company whose proceeds would support military service dogs. The Foundation will provide health insurance for them, ensuring lifelong veterinary care.
Dr. Stahl is native to the DMV, hailing from Annapolis. She was an All American Lacrosse player at Dartmouth College and was named Player of the Year in 2000. She earned her Veterinary Degree at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, Baton Rouge, where she received the Bayer Client Communication Award. She is a member of the AVMA, American Veterinary Medical Association. She enjoys hiking, running, sailing, cooking and life with her young son and daughter. Her family is extended by their dog and kitten, Scout and Rex.

Natacha Simpkins
Dr. Simpkins is proud to be a veterinarian, dedicated to helping and curing animals so they can live long and healthy lives. She was born in Montreal, Canada and raised in Denver, Colorado. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College before attending Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she graduated with honors and awards. In practice for over 20 years, Dr. Simpkins has spent most of that time in Northern Virginia, where she is thankful to have developed many long lasting relationships with clients and their pets. Her veterinary interests include dermatology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She is consistently listed as one of Northern Virginia Magazine’s Best Veterinarians. In her time away from work, she enjoys being with her family, hiking, traveling, speaking French and taking on home improvement projects.

Jessica Christenson
Dr. Christenson was born and raised in Fairfax, VA, so Town & Country feels like coming home in more ways than one. She’s dreamed of working as a vet since she was a young girl and prepared accordingly. Her pet menagerie now rivals hobby farms (3 dogs, 1 cat). All of her clothes are covered in pet hair before she arrives at the office in the morning
Dr. Christenson was the captain of the lacrosse team at Taylor University. She hopes to someday play catch with Dr. Stahl. She completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree at Virginia Tech. Her approach to medicine has been called “magnetic” as she was kicked by an 800 pound gorilla in Uganda and was nearly bit by a saw-scaled viper in India while practicing abroad. She now brings that magnetism to dogs and cats rather than exotic animals. She’s Fear Free certified and passionate about delivering medicine that empowers owners and heals pets.
Dr. Christenson loves to be outside and active. She recently biked 450 miles across Virginia, is working toward hiking all 46 High Peaks in the Adirondacks, and regularly takes her two hounds out for runs around the neighborhood. When not with animals, she loves spending time with her husband, family, and extended family, who all live in the area.

Nancy Barnett
During her childhood, Dr. Barnett spent some time in England. It was then that her parents, both native New Yorkers, learned that she wanted to devote her life to caring for animals. Imagine their surprise. Dr. Barnett went on to earn her Bachelor of Science at the University of Maryland, her Veterinary Medical degree at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and her Master of Public Health at Benedictine University in Illinois. She is also Board Eligible after completing her studies at the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine.
She completed an Equine Medicine and Surgery Internship at Griggs, O’Neal & Kidder, Lexington, Kentucky, and a Public Health Internship at the Virginia Department of Health, Rappahannock Rapidan Health District. She is a member of the AVMA, APHA and AAPHV.
Dr. Barnett has volunteered her time and talents to the Diocese of Arlington Medical Missionaries to Haiti, and the Dominican Republic, the RRMC Medical Reserve Corps, the Diocese of Arlington Strategic Planning Committee, Destination Imagination, Sunshine Math, and Coach for Chantilly Youth Basketball.
Dr. Barnett enjoys reading, antiques, and travel. Her family, husband, and two children, are extended by two Corgis and three cats.

Jessica Bussanich
Dr. Bussanich was born and raised in Northern Virginia, where she played softball, basketball, and worked as a veterinary assistant and then technician.
She attended undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware before achieving her doctorate at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine along with her clinical rotation at Louisiana State University.
As a practitioner, she enjoys feline behavior and medicine, pain management, and preventative health care. She enjoys creating bonds with her patients and clients to create a team for pet’s best care.
She is a member of the AVMA, American Veterinary Medical Association as well as Alpha Psi Veterinary Fraternity. Away from work, she loves to spend time with her always growing family of pets, cooking, and traveling in her camper van. She and her family enjoy season tickets to the Washington Nationals and Capitals and try to attend as many games as possible.

Ryan Alwiel
Dr. Alwiel is a Northern Virginia native, graduating from James Madison HS and working for a nearby vet clinic. He then went to University of Georgia for undergraduate, getting a Bachelors in Animal Science in the College of Agriculture. At UGA, he spent countless hours doing wildlife and large animal emergency medicine during his tenure, as well as watching UGA Football GO DAWGS. He then went to Midwestern University for his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Alwiel has a passion for behavioral, neurology, and preventative medicine. He believes in taking time to make sure pets have as less-stressful-as-possible vet visits.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Alwiel has 2 feline friends named Bumi and Korra. He enjoys Cooking, Entertainment, Rock Climbing, Board Games, Basketball, Gardening (with aspirations of becoming a Master Gardener), Fishing, and the Outdoors. Other career paths he envisioned were Chef or Underwater Welder
